Represent the network accurately

Your profile, credentials, capacity and the work you say you do must be true and kept current. Members refer on the strength of what your profile claims; an inaccurate profile costs another member their client relationship, not just yours.

Treat an introduction as a conversation

An introduction is not a lead. Pitching on first contact, sending a proposal before a conversation, or adding another member to a mailing list after an introduction are all breaches of this code. The first meeting exists to establish whether there is a reason for a second.

Contribute, do not only receive

Membership assumes you will introduce as readily as you expect to be introduced. A member who consistently takes without contributing is spoken to, and if it continues the membership is not renewed.

Keep what you learn inside the network

Member information, circle discussions, event conversations and the details of any introduction are confidential. Nothing is published, quoted or attributed outside the network without the explicit consent of everyone involved.

Decline cleanly

Either side may decline an introduction, at any point, without giving a reason. Declining is a normal outcome and carries no penalty. Pressuring another member to accept, or raising a decline outside the network, does.

Behave professionally

Harassment, discrimination, misrepresentation and any conduct that would embarrass another member in front of their own client are grounds for immediate removal.

How breaches are handled

A first breach is raised directly and privately with the member. A repeated or serious breach ends the membership and releases the category seat. Where a breach affects another member, that member is told what was done about it.

If another member breaches this code, tell us. Reports are handled confidentially, and no member is disadvantaged for making one in good faith.
